I was trying to combine my music library and my wife's and I seem to have lost my music library. It's still on the hard drive (for example, I can select "Add to Library" and put one of those songs in), but when I specify in iTunes "Preferences" where to look for it, nothing shows up. Since I did no tinkering with my wife's, hers is still there.

How can I fix this? I just want to be able to get my music back. Thanks!

the easy way is to to just grab your iTunes music folder in ~/Music/iTunes/ (if that's where your music is) and drag it to the iTunes window.

All non-automatic playlists will be empty, but the music will be there.

If you have and wish to keep separate libraries, just turn on Rendezvous sharing in the Sharing preferences of iTunes and keep iTunes running in both accounts. You will be able to access each others' libraries.

If you want to consolidate both libraries into a single one, create a new folder in /Users/Shared/ and drag all of your music there. Then designate that as the default iTunes folder in the Advanced preferences of iTunes for both accounts.
