Is there anyway to use Toast to burn a .nrg file as Video CD (the .nrg file is a movie). VLC, which never ceases to amaze me, can somehow play the file but I would like to burn it to a VCD so I can watch it on my DVD player. Thanks in advance for any help.

With Toast 6 I believe I just dragged it into the "Copy" tab's "Image File" mode, and then burned.

I found this link which has a tool that might be able to convert it to an ISO if you don't have the latest version of Toast, or as the last person suggested maybe try changing the extension on the file from NRG to ISO.

Gumby can convert it into an ISO file. I had to use it to convert Office X over to an ISO. The joys of working at a PC centric company with a Mac. At least the person who maintains our MS software archive did put the newer Office up as a normal ISO file.

I managed to mount the file using Toast and copy the .mpg file that was on the image but it wouldn't play in VLC or burn as a VCD. I know the file is fine since the .nrg file does play in VLC but I want to burn it as a VCD and so far nothing I have tried or thought of will work. Please let me know if anyone else has any advice.

Thanks
Zack

Have you tried Gumby like a previous poster suggested?

What version of Toast do you have?

Regardless, if you managed to mount the image using Toast you should be able to burn it. Since it's an .nrg I believe it should be all set up inside as a VCD for you already– the only thing you should have to do for it to play on your DVD player is to burn it within Toast's 6 "File Mode" or Toast 5's "Disc Image" mode.
