I thought you could do it before but I cannot see how to do it now. I want to change the folder name that Mail.app uses to save the sent messages on my IMAP account. It seems that Mail.app wants to use "Sent Messages" but I would like it to use either "Sent" or "Sent Items". I would have thought there would be an option to control what folder name to use but it appears that Mail.app might just hardcode it?

Anyone know how to do this? I'm using Mail.app on the latest OS X 10.3.

Ctrl-Click on the folder's name > Contextual menu > Rename ?

I think rename just renames the folder on the IMAP server.

I did just realize that you can select a folder, and then select from the menus Mailbox..Use this Mailbox for..Sent that it will use it for sent messages. The selected folder will no longer show up under the IMAP server but under the Sent special folder grouping. (I have multiple accounts setup)

It's not intuitive since I would expect this type of thing to be setup under the Preferences.
