Hello,

I click the PDF icon on the Word tool bar and get the message:
PDF maker could not locate the Adobe PDF printer. Please install the printer on this machine.

Is there exist a driver of this name for OSX, or there is another tool to replace it.

Just choose Print normally (don't click a PDF button or anything). From there, there is a "Save as PDF" option.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

That will get you an Apple PDF, not the real-deal Adobe PDF.

Did you change your system software? The Adobe PDF driver was lost when I moved up to Panther, although there is an Acrobat update which you can download. Is 'AdobePDF' one of the printer option when you print your document?

I was given this solution which works perfectly:

Restoring a Deleted Adobe Distiller Printer in OS X
by Kenneth Newquist (Copyright 2004 Kenneth Newquist)

The nitty-gritty:

Launch Print Center (Applications > Utilities > Print Center).

Hold down the "option" key and click the "Add a Printer" button.

Scroll down to "Advanced"

Where it says "Device" choose "Adobe PDF (pdf).

For Device Name, add an appropriate name (I put "Acrobat Distiller")

For Device URL, put "pdf://distiller"

Under Printer Model, choose "Adobe". When you do so, a subwindow appears with the text "Adobe PDF 3015.102".

Click "Add"
