Hi,

I live in Holland and have just noticed that the European iMacs don't ship with Quicken. I really do need some home accounting software. Can any Quicken 2004 or 2005 (for Mac) users tell me whether Quicken supports currencies other than the US$? Would it be possible for me to buy the US Quicken version and use it here in Europe? I guess, at then end of the day, I could pretend the $ are € and everything else would be the same. Any comments?

Thanks,

Paul

I just looked in my Preferences for Quicken 2003 and there is a choice of countries: US or Canada.

Not sure if that's been changed in later versions or not. I looked on the Qucken website and it showed Quicken for serveral different countries but not Holland.

I have Quicken 2004 and also have a choice between only the US and Canada. I couldn't find anywhere to set the currency, but then I didn't look beyond the preferences.

Macworld did a review earlier this year of personal finance apps, including some free and modestly-priced ones. You should look and see if one fits the bill.

I"m not sure if Quicken will, but generally I think finance apps look to your System preferences to determine their currency &c.

PS - if you're looking for an alternative, iBank is fabulous - I switched after 4+ years of using Quicken...
