Grrr.... I like what the Mozilla group is doing, but I swear their browsers are all a little hokey!

I was using Camino. I started noticing that when I'd download a file (namely a .zip or a .dmg file) that the icon for the file would be wrong. This didn't happen right away... instead, after a day or so of use. For a while the .dmg files would have a powerpoint icon?!

So I canned Camino and repaired permissions/repaired disk and all seemed fine. Then I tried out Firefox PR 1. There's another whole post on the weirdness that turned out to be. But I never had any of the icon problems with Firefox. I canned Firefox, too.

So now I'm trying the Camino nightly builds and they rock! However, the weird icon thing is happening again!

I'm trying to find out if this is a Camino thing. It almost has to be. It never happened with Safari, OmniWeb, or Firefox. Camino is *really* the browser I'd prefer to be using, but the icon thing drives me CrAzY!

I know these Mozilla quirks can't just be me... other people are having odd behavior with them too. But not everyone is. What differences could be causing the weirdness? And has anyone else had the icon problem with Camino?

And yeah... I've been clearing out all the prefs and profiles and what not between each of these installations... I just don't get it! Haha.

Thanks in advance!

The icons are an OSX bug that happens periodically. I can't remember which cache file you trash to fix it.
