I'm taking an introductory Astronomy course and so far it's incredible. Enjoying it so much.
The prof mentioned we should look into starry night as a piece of software to extend our knowledge.
Thing is it's pretty pricey - so anyone want to give me a great endorsement or alternative?
Or, looking to rid yourself of a seldom used piece of software?

It's awesome. Imagine being able to look at any point in the universe, from any point in the universe, at any time in history. Plug in the gps coords for your house, and see what in the sky from your point of view. Graphics are good too. I'm not an astronomer so I only scratch the surface of it, but it' a great app..... Try the demo of it.....

Starry Night is great.

All the versions offer something nice... buy what you can afford, and you'll be happy

I've used Starry Night since its early (freeware, I think) days back when I used my old Performa 630CD (still running strong!). Over the years it has continued to get better, except for the price
