Hi all,
I just made files from iMovie and it was .mov file, anyway I open it thru quicktime in my PB it can open and play the clip but when i tried to send to my friend via email she can't open the files via quicktime on her PC. Is there different settings between PC and Mac quicktime? cause I sent cc to my other email address and open it on my PB it's running okay. what should I do in order to save the files and can be opened in PC quicktime format? thanks for any infos guys!.
Ike

QuickTime files you create in Mac OS X are certainly absolutely identical in format to those used on Windows. Did you maybe use an more obscure codec that your friend on windows does not have?

Firstly, sending large files through e-mail is undoubtedly a bad idea. Don't do it.
Secondly, a real description of the problem - what she tried, what the error message was, etc - would be necessary to help you resolve this issue. Did you stuff the files before sending them to her or otherwise compress them? What codec did you use to export them? Etc etc.
Saying "it doesn't work" isn't particularly helpful.

Guys,
The files is only 8kb (15secs of clip) and on windows when she downloaded properly (the quicktime icon is displaying the file) her computer only says that one of the file that is needed to open the file is missing, honestly I don't know what is that.

Let me guess - you saved the movie from Quicktime "normally" (allowing dependancies)
8k is the give-away - that's just a reference track to the larger movie.
That's my theory anyway.

Dig's has it. The file works on your computer, because it looks for another movie file/s to play. You need to save it self-contained to place all these assets in the same file - hence the reason it is only 8kb (that's less than one frame).

Could she be opening the resource fork insted of the data fork? I'm never sure if these still exist.

I figure it out myself guys! I went again to iMovie and click on file and go to share option and voila! it compressed the video file into quicktime movie file. I know it should be easier but I just too dumb, oh well my first Mac made me fell in love more and more and more and more....
