Ok just for kicks while playing around with Entourage 2K4’s prefs I turned on the ‘warn before allowing external apps to access the address book’ preference. Well, now almost every couple of minutes I receive a warning from Entourage ‘an external script is attempting to access the address book... You should check it’s validity... Do you want to allow access, yes or cancel.” Literally, almost every 120 seconds or so. If I quit Entourage, it starts itself up in roughly that same amount of time and gives me the script warning. If I restart, none of this happens until I run Entourage for the first time myself. Then it starts doing this stuff all over again.

This worries me. Anyone have an idea what could be going on? Any processes I should check out in Activity Monitor? I doubt this is some kind of rare virus, I'm assuming some 3rd party app I installed is malfunctioning. (I've used MissingSync and GoBetween, a few other apps like those in the last few months) Thanks.

Nevermind. I figured it out: a preference in LaunchBar was set to scan Entourage's address book database too often. Since Entourage was set to warn me about this, it started the app up to do so. Fixed the pref, no longer have the problem.
