Safari 1.2 requires Mac OS X 10.3.

The Safari 1.0.3 update for Jaguar, did that update the rendering engine at all?

I understand some of the codes (some CSS-related codes, I believe) in WebCore v106 or later run with Panther only, and therefore Safari 1.1 or later is not compatible with Jaguar.

OmniWeb 5.0.x incorporates v85-based WebCore, as OmniGroup wanted it to be compatible with Jaguar as well. However, they plan to incorporate the newest WebCore in 5.1, and OW 5.1 will run with Panther and Jaguar, only with the limitation of some CSS-related features not working with Jaguar. If OmniGroup would give this feedback to Apple, we might have Safari 1.2 for Jaguar.

Don't bet on it. Safari 2.0 will be Tiger only, and then the cycle of being shafted by the mother ship goes on

OK then the anwser is no. I just hate having to jump on the PC to check my gmail account. Right at the moment I dont have the coin to upgrade to 10.3 and I know my PB G-3 400 wont be able to run tiger when it hits. I guess I have to do some saving and buy a new PB.

You can still use any Mozilla based browsers such as Camino or Firefox to check your gmails in Jaguar
