I'm considering plunking down 40 bucks for "Missing Sync," as I'm having so much difficulty syncing my new Palm (can't even get all the stuff off the old one!) with ical (calendar stuff) and Palm Desktop (to dos, and contacts). I've looked on these forums, I've looked on Apple discussions, and got the thing to sync, part-way, through disabling various condiuts, etc.

And I said, there has GOT to be any easier way.

But there's no demo that I can find for "missing sync." And I'm not sure it will do what I need, though some opinions I've read from earlier posts here seem pretty positive.

anyone currently using this? Will it sync via Palm Desktop for contacts and "to dos" or do I have to put everything on Apple software first. (That, by the way, is NOT what I want to do.) Any opinions at all?
Thanks.

I've used The Missing Sync for both my old Clié and my current PocketPC. Works great.

As the above poster said, it works fine. I used it between PalmDesktop and my Clie. It also worked fine syncing between my Clie and MS Entourage.

Have you considered reinstalling the PalmDesktop software ?
I'm using v4.1 on a G4/OSX 10.3.5 with succes (except I can't send images to my Palm).
Also, my cradle is usb connected directly into the G4 port - I've removed my USB (powered) hub which proved to be a troublemaker on several occasions.

I have a question about PalmDesktop and also "The Missing Sync". I have a Palm m505 (Palm OS 4) and a new PB, being a switcher from a Windows system.

I haven't yet hooked up my Palm to sync with my PC, but will be doing so soon. I'd like to save the $40 and make do with what I can get for free, but I'm curious as to what I can sync using the Mac Palmdesktop.

I understand it will do contacts from the Address Book, and the calendars from iCal, but will it do email via Mail.app? It didn't say anything about it (nor do the iSync websites) and nor does The Missing Sync.

also what about AvantGo? Both AvantGo and Mail are very important to me and if I can't get that functionality on my Mac then I might just keep it syncing to my PC.

May have to do the re-install. I've spent way more time on this than I wanted to. In the meantime, my current difficulty is that I finally got some syncing going -- but Palm is not transferring all my contacts! I'd say it's syncing maybe 10 percent or fewer.

Now I'm thinking I might just do a reinstall. I hesitate only because while I can't remember the specifics, there was something about needing pseudo to get the install to work, and stuff has to be in different places, etc. etc.

I'm a little aggravated at this point. Add to that, I still want to use ical for calendar appointments, not the Palm. I haven't gotten around to reactivating isync, yet.

On the other hand, I upgraded to the Tungsten from a Handspring Visor -- the new Palm is quite nice!
