When my computer boots up, I receive the following alert:

末末末末末
Network SpyAlert Protection Expired!
The installed demonstration version of Internet Cleanup has expired. To purchase the demo, run the Internet Cleanup application for details.
末末末末末

I no longer have the demo and I have repeatedly tried searching for anything associated with 'Internet Cleanup' or 'SpyAlert Protection', but I cannot find anything. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what is causing this alert? I'd like to get rid of it - thank you.

check your startup items (in sys prefs, under your account); if there's an "internet cleanup" app there, remove it.

and search for that name on your hd; you installed a demo that expired!

Do you have anything associated with this in your "Login Items" by chance? If so, remove it.

I found an ICleanupMenu listed in my startup items. I've unchecked it, but I would like to get rid of it. When I do a search (everywhere) for it, nothing is found.

Don't just uncheck it... delete the whole item from your login items list.

I have been fighting the same problem. I did delete the whole item from my login items list and also reinstalled the application and tried an apple delete program, but with no success. The application is not showing up when I search my HD, I am using OS 10.5.2
If you have any suggestions, that would be great.
Thank You,
Randy

Why did you reinstall the application if you want it and the pop-up gone?

Download the application again. Sometimes the installer has an uninstaller.

If you want the pop-up gone, but you want to continue using the program, pay for it and enter the serial number you receive. This board is not going to help you pirate software.

You really didn't read the post did you

He no longer has the demo, but continues to get the pop up. He's asking to help remove the pop up and clean it up.

I do not wish to use this application, when the trial was up I simply put it in the trash. I continue to get the pop up message, Network SpyAlert Protection Expired!, The installed demonstration version of the Internet Cleanup has expired. To purchase the demo, run the Internet Cleanup application for details. All I want to do is get rid of this pop up and never see or use this application again. The reason I reinstalled the application is I found another application "AppDelete" to try another way of deleting the first application the I already deleted. Another words, I can not delete the application that is not in my hard drive, however some part of the application is causing the pop ups. I know this is confusing, all I want to do is see the pop ups go away.

Check these paths for suspicious applications:
~/Library/StartupItems (the ~ means your user folder)
/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/StartupItems

also make sure that you have deleted - not just unchecked - it from your account login items.

If you let your mouse cursor hover over the object in Login Items in the Users System Preference pane, a tool-tip will show you exactly where this item is located.

Thank You for all your help! I did get the crazy pop up to go away. I found some things hidden in my HD-Library-LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons. After a restart it has not come back.
Have a wonderful day,
Randy
