Unfortunately I use Windows 2k at work, with the latest IE version as my browser.
Recently my work PC has been completely invaded by pop-up ads, porn websites and the like, plus shortcuts on the desktop, new IE toolbars with links to gambling and porn sites.
The only web sites I peruse from work are so-called legitimate ones, such as Globe and Mail, MacNN and a few others.
I'm wondering if I haven't picked up these nasties from MacNN ... given that I consistently get the following message when connecting here:
Filename: vc-720.js
Type: script file
From: www4.macnn.com
It then asks me if I want this installed or not.
It baffles me as to how I got these, and I'm totally perplexed as to how to get rid of them. My I.T. guy spent half the morning trying to fix this ... he now says my HD needs to be wiped/re-formatted. My internet browsing from work is now completely hijacked.
How the hell anyone would put up with this on a home PC is completely beyond me.
