I'm hoping some Java/Mac guru can help with the following problem. My daughter is trying to run the Java applet at the following link
http://www-math.mit.edu/18.02/applet...Variables.html
Basically the applet loads and is partially functional but the "Show" and "Graph" menu buttons do not work. I have tried all the Java updates I can find on Safari, Explorer, Firefox and Camino on a Mac but none of them work. Meanwhile this functionality is present in Explorer and Firefox in Windows XP. Any suggestions are appreciated. also any opinions regarding the likelihood of this working in Virtual PC. Thanks

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on Virtual PC. My guess is the developer just didn't test this applet on a Mac. You might want to shoot them an e-mail, if you can.

I'm in the same boat....have had a PB for a few weeks now but have not completely converted from Windows...I am really enjoying this new OS once I got the hang of it but can't quite make the move fully as yet.

Anyways, my problem with the Java plug-in is I have a website that I need to access...its a secure site and is work related so I can't post the link. The web based program requires java JRE 1.4.2_05. I made sure I had this same version for Mac OS X, however, it still won't let me in. I think the actual web based program will only accept the windows version of 1.4.2_05..(does this make sense to say?).....I also tried pretty well all the Mac browers out there...
The only one that was close was Safari...I get in but bars and other buttons on the app does not appear, however, if I click randomly I'll end up on what ever I clicked. (clicking blind!)

I'm waiting for the newest version of VPC and will try it out then.
I'm sure it will work. The down fall is if VPC has a lag then there will be more of lag....this web based site I access has a lag already so I guess it'll be double the lag time. Ugh
If my thinking of how VPC will work for me is incorrect, please, someone put me in my place...if anyone could provide extra pointers..please do!

Regardless, I am loving this new toy! Cheers all!
