I just upgraded to a AIBook from a TiBook. I used Apple's automated method to transfer my info from the Ti to the AI using a firewire cable. It seems like 99% of my stuff made it. However, my very extensively customized AW spell check data didn't make it. I'm not sure if it's a preference or a library. Can someone tell me where it's located so that I can go get it manually? Thanks!
T.

You will find it under Applications / AppleWorks 6 / AppleWorks Essentials / Dictionaries.
As far as I know there are no other files you need associated with it. I expect you will find out when you try it out.

Thanks for the response, but I don't think that's it. I even tried loging out after replacing it. Any other guesses?

Now my AW dictionary is hosed. When I spell check, I can't tell it to "learn" a word b/c the learn button is dimmed. Anyone have any thoughts?

If you can, delete everything appleworks and reinstall.

Thanks for the responses. Deleting AW and reinstalling it will still not fix the fact that I wouldn't have my customized dictionary from my original laptop when I finished. For that matter I could have called Apple - and based on my past experiences I would stand a >90% chance of being told to re-install my OS! Jonesy was right with regard to the location of the file, however, I incorrectly assumed that the file I wanted from within the "Dictionaries" Folder was the "English - Spelling" (it's not!). In fact, the user defined spell check dictionary is (I guess) aptly named "User Dictionary" (maybe "custom dictionary" would be a more intuitive name...)
Anyway, here's the fix:
The process require 2 steps. In order to use an older customized spell check library on a new computer, you must first replace the file "User Dictionary" with your customized (older) "User Dictionary" which is located where Jonesy stated. Then you have to go into AW, select Edit > Writing Tools > Select Dictionaries > click the bullet "User Dictionaries" > click the Choose button > and then select the new (actually old - as it's from your old computer) "User Dictionary" file.
This must have just been an oversight by Apple b/c when I transferred all my data to my new AI, AppleWorks was customized in other respects (i.e., my starting points, preferences, etc., were are transferred!). Very strange that the User Dictionary was not effected.
Thanks again for all the help.
