I finally figured out why my AIM account didn't work with iChat, and am now trying to use iChat as my IM client... but there's one thing that's really bugging me.

When I turn on an away message, it appears as though iChat doesn't auto-send it when people IM me and I'm away. Is this an option I can turn on anywhere (couldn't find it), or is this a missing feature? Not all IM clients just display away messages automatically...

This is just something iChat does, and I think there's no way to change it. Hopefully in Tiger...

You want iCAR - iChat Auto Reply.
Ads a simple away auto-reply, or more sophisticated options with scripting.
