I want to move my address book and some of my saved e-mails from my powerbook to my new iMac.
I use Entourage X 2003.
I assume there is an easy way to do this, as opposed to typing it all out.
Any tips?

Look in the help files. But your data should be in your "documents" file, under "Office X identity(ies)." Within that, the database will hold all your old information. Replace the brand-new database with your saved one and you should be in business.
Be advised (and I don't remember the specifics) that Microsoft has some sort of "daemon" processes in place that could hamper this process. Do a search on these forums to find out how to kill the process, if you should get the "can't do this because the database is in use" message. It involves going into one of the utility applications to force-stop the process.

As bbales said, it should be as simple as copying the Microsoft User Data folder from one Documents folder to the next. Launch the new Entourage and it should find everything with no problem. To avoid the Daemon issue, just install office but don't launch anything. Copy over the folder and then launch Entourage. It should detect your mailboxes and address book just fine.

I thought all new macs come with the new transfer assistant, which will not only transfer your email accounts but your photos, music, documents, and applications with preferences intact (if you so choose)

They do. People don't seem to be aware of it yet though
