I am trying to download songs from http://www.geocities.com/netnewsmusic/abc.html for an iMovie at school. We have eMacs and I would like to convert the songs. Any suggestions how? When I download them they put a .rm extension on the end, can't change it. I try to open it with iTunes and nothing.

Thanks.

.rm and .ram are Real Media files. Play them with Realplayer.

Changing the extensions won't do you any good; what's inside the file will still be the same. RealMedia isn't a Quicktime-compatible format. You'll have to convert the files if you want to use them in iMovie.

Thanks for the replies but will I be able to get them into iTunes after RealPlayer?

Any free recommendations?

AudioHijack by Rogue Amoeba should be able to get the job done as well.

The pro version will encode to MP3 and a number of other formats, the regular version will only convert to AIFF, but you can convert AIFF->mp3 with another tool...

iMovie reads AIFF anyway.
