Just curious if anyone can explain some stuff in the activity monitor to me.
Under 'system memory' there are 7 categories.
1. wired
2. active
3. inactive
4. used
5. free
6. VM size
7. page ins/outs
I'm assuming that 'active' represents the active RAM being used by apps, but then 'wired' also sounds like it would do the same thing. And then there's inactive and free which is also a bit confusing. I know what virtual memory is, but i don't have the concept down entirely.
Thanks in advance.
