Why not use the built-in OS X PDF creator?

File > Print > Print as PDF...

To create a PDF file by using the PDF creation feature in Mac OS X:

1. Open the document you want to convert to PDF in the native Mac OS X application
2. Choose File > Print
3. Choose "Save as PDF..."

The choice is in the print dialogue box when you select "Print":

Just for a little techincal tidbit. PDF is a subset of Quartz ... which is a core technology of how OS X draws things on screen. Literally anything you can print, you can turn into a PDF by the method mentioned above.
