Hi,
Is there any way of playing several mpg files back to back to back without having to press play after each file?
I have VLC media player and, of course, Quicktime.
NEED TO KNOW ASAP!!!!!!
THANKS!!!!

VLC will do it; in fact I think it does it best as the way it presents it is more seamless.
MPlayer will close the previous window, then spawn a new one which breaks continuity. VLC performs the transition smoothly, using the same window.
Just bring up the playlist window by clicking the button on the controller and drag the files you want into the playlist, ordering them as desired.

cool, this is good to know. mplayer's behavior of not remembering the previous zoom size of the movie is irksome, too. now i'll just stick with vlc

VLC does this sometimes, too. Sometimes it does... sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure what determines whether it remembers or not.
I almost forgot... there's a program called QT Xlist that lets you create quicktime playlists. I've never used it, but I saw it the other day at MacUpdate: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11981

Since you didn't mention what this was being used for... there is also a tag in the QuickTime object tag that tells the browser where to go when the end of one movie is reached. This can be very nice for creating presentations that go from one page to another.
Another option if you are putting together a package is to use SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language). That also has options to string things together and QuickTime reads it fine.
