I have the new G5, with OX 10.3.5, and have tried, over eight times now, to install the Windows Media Player 9 for the OSX system. It downloads OK, but them gives a strange message that it is not compressed and I need to check info. Then nothing happens.

I have been in touch with the Microsoft people and they are no help.

So far, this is the ONLY problem experienced with this great machine.

It could be a matter of just a bad file, too bad there are no another sites where to get it :-/

maybe you could get it from a Office install disc, or from a magazine, yes, that is so last year...

or maybe from some MacNN member via iChat.

This issue is not specific to Power Macs.

Most likely the download is incomplete or corrupted. Use a different application to download again.

Thanks - I found my problem. I was using an old version of stuffit - I upgraded and it went right through.

I feel dumb about that one. Should have checked all my programs to make sure I had upgraded. However, all other downloads have worked.
