I've got some windows media video that I want to play via s-video on a tv. For some reason I cannot find the option in media player, and the files won't play in anything else (including VLC and QT - though they do play in VLC on a pc).

Anyone got any idea how I can sort this? Tried searching to no avail

Try some of the following: (at least one should work)

a) Dragging the video window to the second display before selecting full screen.
b) Go into the 'displays' system preference, and drag the menu bar from your computer screen, to the tv screen (in the pref pane), which will make the TV you primary display, and thus the video play full screen there.
c) Select 'mirror displays' from your monitors menu to show the same content on your computer screen and your TV.

Purple Giants option a) should do what you want!
At least it works for me! (Radeon8500 to TV)
