Does anyone on this web forum know anyone with insider information...?

I have put-in feedback to Apple twice over the last year and a half regarding FCP's ability to handle multi-camera shoots... but the last two releases have nothing in the form of making it any easier.

We (collectively?) need some sort of UI that allows us to allign all the video tracks to sync... then use some sort of preview that allows us to see ALL sync'ed tracks simultaneously so we can choose which stream to "cut" to. It would be even COOLER if it were all done with "markers". (Track Markers?) You would essentially place a marker where you want the cut to happen... and then choose which stream it should "cut" to, but no actual 'splicing' of the tracks in the layout. I guess it would be the equivalent of "virtually" re-ordering the track layers.

It would make life SO MUCH EASIER for those of us that do 3-4 camera shoots of events or performances, to be able to insert the mixed-audio... dump-in all the video streams... sync all video tracks at the beginning and just start choosing streams.

Bang!

Done!

Anyone have any idea if Apple is addressing this... more-so, do any of you have any workarounds for multi-camera editing...?

Thnx.

Would be extremely useful; don't see why you shouldn't be able to do it using tool bench windows - but you can't. Presumably we can only hope it will be in the next revision.

If you've been doing this for awhile the hints in this link will be a little obvious, but they could help.

Good luck.

Yes, thank you...

I have seen that link, and MANY like it all-over the web... but no real, solid solutions as of yet. I really hope they do "SOMETHING" about it.
