Where they say tab they mean window - the tab switches back when the JScript dialog displays. [edit] - ah they've updated the page text.

I wouldn't trust a JScript dialog - but then I'm not most users.

I suppose Apple could make JScript dialogs have the URL of the originating script as part of the title. But that might not be obvious enough.
