hello.

need some advice please. started working at a small creative company and they are looking to update all the equipment to all mac. the few remaining pc laptops are toast !!! There is no server equipment in place at the moment only a few macs and a couple of those pc laptops.

one of the things they would like to do is get some kind of contact and calender sharing going. at the moment, they use entourage but evryone has their own contact lists that they email to each other and as you can imagine, its out of control and a mess !!

the same kind of deal with the calender.

i'm looking at a some software at the moment. its called "now contacts" and "now up-to-date". its not bad but i was hoping there may be something else.

also, i was wondering... if i put osx server in place, would that allow us to use ical and address book in the way we are wanting to go? then again, these they sort of limited in what they can do.

the functions in entourage are good but i understand that we would need an exchange server in place to do calender sharing etc ??

any ideas??

thanks all.

i would venture a guess that if you set up os X server you could setup a webDAV server that will let you publish ical calendars to it.

my web host let me set up a webDAV directory and i have a public calendar there. for teh addressbook, i am not sure.
