I recently upgraded to a newer HD, and ever since Quicktime just will not work:
  • - Quicktime.app opens, but no window appears. Instead, I get a message with "error 27728" every time I try to open one.

    - The quicktime internet plugin does not work.

    - iTunes uses quicktime to render images (I assume), and has stopped working, virtually making the store worthless.

    - Photoshop and other Adobe apps use quicktime to build previews, and those features have also stopped working

I've tried everything, from creating a new account and seeing if it works there (doesn't), even as far as removing everything related to QT and reinstalling, all to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe there is another problem spot I am overlooking, but I can't see it.

Try repairing permissions and also run disk utility and scan for problems (you may need to start from the cd to do any repairing). Make sure the new HD is compatible with the machine also.
