Sup. I've been looking the last few days for some photo gallery software with little luck. At this point I'd use either server-side or client side software; I just want to get this over with. I've tried Gallery but I can't get v1.4.4 to work, and there is no upgrade path from the G2 alphas which work. It's too bad to, because there's a nice little free iPhoto > Gallery plugin that allows iPhoto to export directly to Gallery. Unfortunately Gallery's galleries are a but ugly.

Next I searched macupdate. Not much worth my time there. Clunky and slow, you know how it goes. Nothing I'd want to spend hours using. Then I found iView which is nice, but expensive.

Anybody know of any other gallery programs that give customizable templates (preferably compatible with CSS 2), nice interface, and not too pricey?

Here are the ones that are a no-go:
Gallery
JAlbum
iView
iPhoto Album
Photo Album Builder X
Site Studio
Web Photos Pro

Trying Image Rodeo now . . .

Thanks

Well Galerie seems good, I would have used it but I'd already done most of my site using Time Saviour.

Hope that's the sort of think you're looking for. Galerie has some nice template features, I got my css in there easily. And they're both free!

Woops, forgot that one. Tried it. Didn't really like it much though; can't remember why. Oh yea. The slideshow couldn't be turned on or off by the user.

Maybe I'm being too picky.

I love that plugin You do know you can customise the appearance of gallery as much as your like, if you have an hour or so up your sleeve?

You can create a template without slideshows, do people actually use slideshows on the web? I think they would be kinda annoying myself. But you could try emailing the developer, I've found freeware developers have a habit of putting in features quite quickly, or at least giving you a workaround.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've been looking for something just like that! Now to find a good theme... if only I was better at CSS I'd make one myself.

Not to toot my own horn, but how about myPhoto? (link in my sig)
myPhoto: all you have to do is plug in your digital camera, import your photos as you normally would into iPhoto, organize them, add whatever captions you want, and voila! Your photos are on your web page! And what did you have to do to put them there? Simply install myPhoto.

lol, I honestly don't come on the forums with the intent of doing so, but some times I just can't help myself when the thread calls for it
