I'm a big Watson fan, but it seems like what it offers doesn't need to be a separate app. I would like to see a tab, drawer or pane that could be toggled to bring up Sherlock/Watson style channels and results. Might entice back from Camino.

Also, I was noodling around with Thunderbird a little, and am in love with the idea of RSS integrated into email clients. Thunderbird treats RSS like newsgroups, and it's a great way to handle them. Each feed is its own folder. You click on it, see subject lines and view articles, including HTML, with one click. I'm not aware of any other email client that does this. I don't really like the RSS implemention in Firefox and am not wild about the approach that seems to be on the way in Safari 2.0 either.

Seems crazy to have an email client, web browser, RSS reader and Sherlock/Watson all open at once. More robust email client and browser seem to me to be a better solution. I'm sure there would be some feature tradeoffs with this approach, but sometimes less is more.

Just a thought.

Ugh, it would just bloat an app. No need for an all-in-one as they all work together. Besides, come Tiger, Safari 2.0 will feature RSS built-in and Spotlight will do the trick (and Mail is also getting a revamp). Wait for Tiger, sounds like all you want and more.

I find Sherlock pretty useless. Instead of using the Yellow Pages Sherlock thing I just go to the Yellow Pages web site. And that web site is already "integrated" into Safari. Just bookmark it.

I also find RSS pretty useless. When you view the MacNN RSS feed you see a bunch of headlines which simply link to each article. When you view regular MacNN main page you see the headlines as well, you can read the articles directly and it has included images, links and a nicer layout. So what's the point of RSS?

That is not the problem of RSS but from MacNN. They choose not to publish artikels and images with RSS because then nobody sees all the Add's.

Good, but every news site handles it like this because they live from the advertising. And if RSS shows images and advertisement what is the plus value over HTML? I just don't see it.

They could easily put ads in the RSS feed.
