Hi,
I recently moved a bunch of files to my powerbook via target disk. When I try to open Excel files, it keeps trying to open them with text edit instead of excel. Is there a way to change this? I keep having to open them via the finder anyway. When I open them without using LB, everything is fine. The files do have the .xls at the end of the name.

Thanks

Get info on those files.
There's an Open with menu set it to execl and this should do it.

Excel is the default program to open these files. When I open them from the documents folder in the finder they open with Excel. Only when I try to open them using LaunchBar do they want to use textedit.

Anybody?

LaunchBar isn't opening your documents with TextEdit. It just tells the documents to open and the System is opening them with their default application. Perhaps your System's Launch Services database needs to be rebuilt. I'd recommend downloading Panther Cache Cleaner and rebuilding the LS database from the Maintenance menu. You can do this in demo mode without paying the registration fee.
