Word 2004 is acting a bit weird. Whenever I open a document with a hyperlink in it, it doesn't display it as a link but as the code (e.g., {HYPERLINK "http://www.google.com/" } ). And when I try to autocomplete my name in a document it replaces it with "{CONTACT _Con-42765D0E1 \c \s \l}" Any ideas? Thanks!

Try this:

1. Open Word> Preferences
2. Select View
3. In the right hand column (third from top), make sure “Field Codes" is not checked/enabled. (Toggling may be required to reset this preference.)

Glad it all worked out. Now, if I could just resolve my own problems.
