OS 10 PowerPoint 2004. I have a .wav and I am trying to insert it into my ppt. I Insert Movies and Sounds...Sounds From File...Insert the .wav. I choose Play Automatically. The .wav doesn't play.

I can't open the .wav in iTunes either.

Please Advise.

Thanks.

I have no idea how to solve your problem, but if this is just a one time thing and its not a long file I would try something like this. Its free, easy to use and works well. Hopefully it'll hold you over until someone that knows what they are doing chimes in.

I'm not home to be able to try it myself, but it might help if you were a little more specific about how/where exactly the problem is occuring.

Can you play the .wav in Quicktime Player? In Windows Media Player? If you can't get it to play at all the problem is with the file...

Given your experience inserting the .wav into the PPT - is it just that you think you're missing some sort of switch to turn on the sound? Or that you think the file isn't getting inserted correctly? Or just that PPT can't seem to play the .wav, even though you know it has been properly added?

I just did a quick test and got a .wav file to play fine in my slide. Although I've had problems with powerpoint in the past in using large files. How big is the .wav file?

(I am at home now...on a PC) I know the .wav is small, just a five second .wav, crowd laughing. The .wav plays when I go to a folder...select the .wav and it plays but it doesn't open up a player, just the preview (in another column) to the right.

I thought that would work easy enough, I know PPT can handle .wav's. Oh well. Thanks for the replies.
