Anyway, I was reinstalling my VPC with windows 2k to use the one stupid program in windows on my mac and after installing it off the CD's I have to enter this product key or whatever. I type in the VPC serial number and it's not it! It's a totally different product key that needs to be found on some sticker!! AHHHH!! Can I contact MS or something to get a product key for VPC? I have the stinkin original disks here in hand! I swear, needing multiple serials per product is starting to bug me (Even though this is probably the only one). I'm just really frustrated because I'm on a deadline and this is eating up so much of my time. I already almost tore up the whole house looking for the stupid manual (with no luck of course) has anyone else been in this situation? What should I do?

You should be able to just call MS and explain the situation to them.

Sorry to say that but you do realize that you never pay for the actual CDs the software is on? What you are paying for when purchasing software is the license and the key hence original CDs of software are worthless unless they come with the original license agreement and software license.
If you still have your software license then you should be able to get a product key from Microsoft, call them and ask. You may have to fax them your software license tho or maybe even snail mail it.

The serial number for Virtual PC is completely different than the serial number (product key) for the actual operating system.

I can't help you with your VPC issues, but I can recommend in some sort of software file that ANY time you get new software, you type in all serial numbers, all operating keys, etc. Then you have them. I do this faithfully and it has saved me more than once -- though I'm also pretty anal about saving the little stickers that come with stuff.
Add the stuff for upgrades, for passwords, for user names. I have lots of them!
