Hi all, I'm new to this Mac stuff and I have a question that will determine if I use iPhoto or dish out the money for iView.

my eMac only has about 25GB of disk space available, so I'm keeping all of my photos on a separate machine over a network. Does iPhoto copy the images I import or do it just create a reference to them? If it makes a copy, is there a way to change where it imports these photos to? I don't want all my photos stored on the eMac, because I'd use up all my disk space. Is there a way to keep my photos on the directory over the network, but still use iPhoto to manage them?

Or am I better off using iView since I have more control over the file structure? I have a specific file structure already set up that I'd like to keep and not have duplicates of all my pictures scattered in different places.

Thanks!
