G4/1.42 Dual running OS 10.3.x running Photoshop 7.0.1 & Entourage X just fine. Updated to Office 2004 and suddenly Photoshop is intermittently unstable, crashing 5-10 times a day, but not related to anything reproducible.

-repaired permissions
-ran DiskWarrior
-disabled fonts Office 2004 had installed
-trashed all Office-related prefs
-discovered user previously had installed Path Finder. Uninstalled
-disabled Norton AutoProtect
-OS 10.3.4 & 10.3.5
-applied all OS-related updates
-rebuilt the Entourage database
-updated Office 2004 to 11.1

None of these steps made any difference.

In the process of doing all this, we discovered the following:
-Photoshop 7 in ONLY unstable when Entourage 2004 is running. Running the other Office 2004 Photoshop 7 is quite happy.
-When we revert back to Entourage X, everything works fine.
-Other Macs in the office with this same scenario (Photoshop 7 & Entourage 2004) work perfectly fine.

There is a known problem with keyboard shortcuts not working in a variety of Adobe's CS applications when using Entourage. See this item on the Adobe Knowledge Base. It may be related. You may want to discuss this with Adobe, or search either their Forums or Knowledge Base to see if there are related reports w.r.t. PS 7.x.
