Is there anyway to stop Google returning results from certain domains?

Whenever I try to find a review of something, I find results being provided links from (the likes of) Ciao, DooYoo, LowestPricesEver!!11.com. Not very useful.

Ideally, what I'd like is (some way) to be able to tell Google to ignore ciao.com. dooyoo.co.uk and LowersPricesEver!!11.com

Hmm... just an idle thought really. But if it turns out to be the NextBigThing, I take full credit for it!

Thanks in advance -

c

You can search for "ducks site:yahoo.com" to restrict the search to only yahoo, or "ducks -site:yahoo.com" to show results from all sites but yahoo. Or you can just use advanced search

it probably wouldn't be too difficult (and possibly quite well-received) if somebody wrote a script that would automatically read domains from an exclude.txt file and brought up a pop-up to enter search criteria in... the search criteria could automatically be appended with the -site: arguments from the exclude.txt file and passed via query string to google. I don't believe this would violate the google terms/agreements or anything... as long as it still takes you to a google search results page containing google text ads.

Question: do -site:domain.tld arguments count towards the limited number of words that can be used in a search, or are they special cases and not counted?

You can add '-merchant' to your search term and this seems to elimiate people trying to sell you stuff. Works quite well, although it depends on the nature of the search.
