Don't know if anyone's intersted, but has anyone out there actually been able to download stickybrain 3? I'm an existing user and this looks pretty promising. I'd stopped using SB, b/c the "stickies" drove me crazy. But this looks much more organized and quite worthy of giving a try.
But I can't download.

I have, mini-review:
This program has issues.
1. It REALLY installs itself, requires reboot, installs right-click menu, etc. without giving the user any options.
2. It is HARD to create a note! The program wants you to use the services menu to create everything, but user-defined folders dont' show up as shown here:
I.E. when I created a new folder called 'Projects', 'Sticky Grab to new note in Projects' was not an option.
So you have to manually create a note, switching between apps, and the cut and past your text into the note content. You can also drag the clipping, but only on the note content portion of the screen. You'd better manage your windows really well, or you'll be mousing a lot. All of this just to store some text. I'm better off using text clippings.
You can't drag any information (file, selected text, picture, etc) onto the application at all. This feature would be really helpful. The ONLY place you can drag 'approved' items like text and images (not pdfs) is the actual note content window.
3. You can't link files (like word docs, pdfs, etc) to notes, only notes to notes.
4. Keyboard navigation is non-existent. With a note selected (via the mouse), you can only tab into the note content, and then you can't tab out. Access to other folders requires mousing.
I just found myself struggling with this app. It wasn't intuitive. I'm using Process (jumsoft.com) too, and it's winning so far.

I downloaded it. My report is that it hijacks command-option-F, WTF? Do these people not use Safari.
Anyway, I can see it would be useful to some, but I'm back to using plaintext, HTML, and grep for my notes.

I also tried several times and failed to download it. I've used v. 2, and am thinking of using v. 3 as a notecard program to replace a hypercard stack I've used for compiling and organizing research notes. But I want to be able to set categories for the cards/stickey notes, and not just rely on keyword searches to organize the info. So I wanted to see if v. 3 had added this functionality. I may just keep using Hypercard, or try iOrganize or Miss Lonelynotes until I can download the SB 3 demo.

Well, they're still busy. But boy, I'm not thinking I want to anymore! I will give it a try, later (I have version 2, as I said before). Thanks for the mini reviews.

Actually, I have and use Macjournal. But it's not quite right, either. I'm somewhat despairing of finding the right thing. I've tried Notebook in the past and may give it another trial. At the moment, MacJournal is the favorite. I thought I'd give Sticky brain another look, because it had dispensed with all those pieces of paper (so to speak) all over my screen. That drove me crazy.

Cheers for the review - I downloaded it today (over two hours)
and thought it was a 'design disaster' but I will have to test it
fully to have a real opinion.
...seems they are going to add a new release in 24 hours to
address some bugs and the flash window design (more color-way options)
