Has anyone else run into this problem? I sometimes use Acrobat Reader 6 at work on a 15" 1.25Ghz G4 PowerBook (1.25GB RAM). This is because Preview sometimes cuts text off the bottom or top of a printed page. But while Preview will print a page almost immediately, Acrobat Reader can take 10 minutes or more before it starts to print! All the while the cpu is running about 40-60% (according to menu meters). Is there any way to speed things up?

I've checked for updates. I'm currently at 6.02 and there are no updates available using Acrobat Reader's check for updates feature. I've installed the latest OSX updates (10.3.6) as well as the latest HP and Canon printer drivers. Aside from printing Acrobat Reader 6 runs well enough as do my other apps. The extraordinarly long time delay in printing can be a really problem tho. Any help sincerely apprecated!

Hi, Joe.

If you're using version 6.0.2, I think this means you're using Acrobat or Acrobat Pro, not Adobe Reader. But the following advice will apply either way.

In the Adobe Reader/Acrobat Print dialog, click Advanced button and see if "Print as image" is selected. If so, deselect this and see if it improves your printing speed.
Good Luck!
