I've been trying to use my iDisk for the last few days with no luck. It mounts just fine, but when I try to copy things over to it I get errors saying there are characters in the file name that are not allowed etc despite my file name being "village.jpg" I tried it at various times of the day yesterday and the day before, and now I tried it on my work pc and it just says it can't copy the files. I also can't delete items from my iDisk. I tried deleting a folder of pictures. That wouldn't work, it said they were in use (?!), then I tried each picture file individually and got the same thing.
I don't know if it's related, but I haven't been able to sync my contacts for a while now as iSync keeps giving me an error right before completing.

have you updated to 10.3.6?

if so, welcome to one of the 10 things apple broke with the update. search the apple discussion boards, you're not alone. a lot of people are having problems with idisk and external fw devices (like ipods)

for the same reason my ipod is recognized on my roommates pc, but not on my powerbook. no 10.3.6.

there seems to be several bad installer scripts in 10.3.6. and i dont want to revert to .5.....so i guess i'll just wait this one out.

oh....sorry i did misread that post. that is definitely and odd problem.

nothing i can think of seems to be a probable cause, however i have read some posts that people can not access others idisk sites..... so there may indeed be an all around idisk issue at the moment.

i'll be on the look out for the same problem and or solution.

iDisk and iPod continue to work fine here on both my 10.3.6 machine and 10.2.8 (iDisk only, never actually tried the iPod on that one).

Do you use a local iDisk? If so, try turning that off and moving your ~/Library/Mirrors folder. Then remount the disk and see if it clears up. It sounds like it isn't directly related to your setup since it won't work on your Windows machine as well, but who knows.

Are you sure you are paid up?
