I need to access a restricted website where you need to enter a password to gain access.

To use examples, say the domain is "domain", the username is "user" and the password is "word".

The instructions on the website say if you are using windows xp then you should enter it as:
domain\user (in the username field)
word (in the password field)

I tried this in safari but it didn't work. Do you know if there is a diffferent way to log into such websites, where a domain, username, and password are supplied?

Maybe you aren't supposed to put the domain in the name field also.

Hehe yeah I realized after I posted that I was trying to put the name into the wrong login link (there are several login links on the site I was at).

And you were correct, I did not need to type in the domain when I logged in.

Well at least I used up my stupidity for the day
