i need some advice / help here from any expert:

im making a dvd that has several movie clips. most of these are taken of video cameras and digital camcorders. there are about 150. i made several menu's and have put the link to the videos under the correct menu.

but when i get to the 99th clip, it wont let me add any more. is there any way to bypass this? i currently have it so you can select any clip you want from the menu and it'll play. can i add a "marker" to get around this? or am i doign something wrong?

i'd appreciate any advice. thanks.

I don't believe so. In an iDVD forum I read that is was a DVD standards issue, not an application capability issue.

As Old Toad said, there is a limitation of 99 items in the first level, each of which can have 99 item, each of which can have 99 items. There had to be some limits set, and that is the one the the DVD consortium chose. Personally I think that 99 cubed is a pretty good number.

The first menu (top level) can have 99 entries, each of which can be either a media item or a menu. Each of these can have 99 sub-entries, each of which can be either a media item or a menu. This last level (the third) can have 99 entries, each of which must be a media item. Thus, 99 cubed items in the third level.

im slightly confused then...

is the track limit itself, 99?

or is it possible to have more than 99 tracks? not just menu items...

you can have 99 tracks (or folders) at level one. If you put, say 98 tracks, and one folder, you can go in that folder and lay down another 99 tracks (or folders).

Why in the world would you want to put 150 separate movies on one menu anyway? a little organization goes a long way.
