I am not happy with the Kensington software, I use usb overdrive but it does not support chording or a curve on the mouse speed.
Can someone post screen shots of the Logitech software or email them to me? Please let me know what you think of the software as well.

Uh, I completely avoid Logitech CC for my MX500 and I use USB Overdrive just like you. It's an absolute piece of crap. Logitech won't write decent drivers for Mac OS X, just look at all the complaints on MacUpdate and Versiontracker. Personally, I found it a horrible and inflexible program that didn't effectively alter the tracking speed the way I wanted (it simply increased the slop of the acceleration curve) and doesn't support Fast User Switching. There was also the updates released that flooded system.log with debug messages for ever mouse movement you made, and also corrupted it's own preference file.
I'm not saying I'm absolutely thrilled with USB Overdrive either, but it's a hell of a lot better than LCC. What's so bad about Kensington's software? I heard it's great.

Kensingtons software is pretty good with one major show stopper for me. If you click the resize corner of a window, app, safari etc, and if during that click you are moving the mouse, it will ignore that click. I played with it a long time on just the desktop where the mouse can be made to draw a rectangle on screen. with USB overdrive, I can drag and click and pretty much predict where the start of the marquee will be drawn. With Kensingtons software there is a serious lag, or I should say you have to really slow down your movement of the mouse in order to get that click and drag to be any bit accurate.
I am probably in the minority, I do not know many people who like to mouse around as fast as I do. Kensingtons software also spews to the log way too much, the log reports a ton of crashes, though they do not seem to mess with the use of the mouse. it added a good 45 seconds of boot time to my machine until I dscovred you can turn the menu item off.
If USB OD would just add in a way to create a real curve so that my slow mouse movements were not so jerky. as it is now, the smallest amount I can move the pointer is probably 5 pixels, which is not very accurate.

I personally haven't had any problem with Logitech's control panel for my MX700.
I'm not sure which version I'm using (not at that machine at the moment), but it does what I need. While I agree it doesn't allow fine control over the mouse acceleration curve (like Kensington's does), nor does it support button chording, I haven't had any trouble with it.
Not sure what you mean about not supporting fast user switching... for a time I had FUS enabled for my wife and I, and it seemed to work fine (though I never tried making different Logitech mouse profiles for my wife and I).
Anyway, LCC isn't the most flexible or feature-rich software for sure, but it works for me just fine.
