I remember several Safari versions ago, there was a hack/hint that would improve Safari's overall speed by locking out Safari's favicon saving. Apparently, theory went, was that a large database of favicons would slow down Safari's launch and UI speed.

Does Safari still have this issue, or has it been pretty much fixed? I still have it locked out, but I'm wondering if I should undo the hack.

By the way, anyone remember which folder needs to be unlocked??

Read this thread I posted a while ago. It gives you a list of things on how to speed up Safari. Deleted the icons is one of them. You can also lock the folder so it will never save another icon.
