OK...I do daily regular backups to and external HD and I make changes to my Apple AddressBook daily. I use Dejavü software that does timed backups when I'm asleep. My question is: Is there a way to automate to have my AddressBook automatically backup the database and put the backupfile in my backup folder to be ready before backup starts?
Thanks for any help

.mac and iSync. .mac and Backup. or just a different back up app.
but i don't understand "...backup the database and put the backupfile in my backup folder to be ready before backup starts?"-- to much "backup". can you elaborate?
thx,
Thilo

AddressBook keeps its database file fairly in sync, but you can use the AddressBook's "save addressbook" command to make sure that the file in ~/Library is in sync. So if you can trigger a trivial applescript as any user (that happens to be logged in... since AddressBook is a GUI app) right before the backup you are fine.
