I have just created an alias on my .Mac account. From the webmail.mac.com, I am able to send an email by choosing either my main email or my alias.

How can I do the same thing on the Mail software of Mac OS X? It seems that I have to use my main email address. Is there a pull down menu where I can make the switch like it is webmail?

Thanks.

In Mail Preferences, choose accounts, then new account. Set up the account that you want to use to send mail from.

Then, when you compose a new message, you'll have a drop down menu called "accounts" just above the message pane. Choose the account you want to send from. That's it.

I have to make a mistake somewhere because it does not work.

Since it is an .Mac alias, I leave account type as .Mac
Then in description I put alias@mac.com
Then in full name I put my first and last name
then in username I put my alias name
and for password I put my .Mac password and it does not work.

If I try to put my .Mac login name as username, there is a problem when I try to save the new account because it says that the username already exists on the computer...

Thanks for your help.
