A friend was asking me how to do the 'block' specific website address on Safari?
So how can it be done?

Thanks

This functionality isn't built into Safari, yet.

From what I understand, though, you will be able to do this in the version of Safari that ships with 10.4.

Wait, are you talking about blocking images and ads from certain websites? Or are you talking about blocking access to those websites, altogether?

Yeah, you will be able to block entire sites in the Safari that ships with 10.4. I don't think the OS X firewall has this functionality (I'm pretty sure the only things you can block using it are ports).

If you need this functionality now, you can probably find a 3rd party application that allows you to do this. If you are daring or know a lot about the UNIX underpinnings of OS X, you can accomplish something similar using stuff like the UNIX hosts file. But, I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you know exactly what you are doing.
