I was explaining someone how to archive e-mail messages today within Mail and we ran into something I could not explaing. It was not important to the whole archiving process, but it was still something I had no clue how to answer.

So when I create a New Mailbox folder using the "New..." option from the Mailbox menu, and then I select "On My Mac" as my location I get a new folder under this little iMac icon. When the person was doing the same on his computer he said that he did not have the little iMac icon. All my new folders created this way get put under the iMac icon as shown on the following picture.


Does anyone know why wouldn't he have the iMac icon? Is it some option somewhere that he needs to turn on maybe?

Anyhow... do you guys have the iMac icon show up in Mail, or do you have that iMac icon missing at your "On My Mac" section?

Had he created any folders in On My Mac yet? It only appears if there's anything there.
