I'm new with EvoCam Software. I wanted to be able to view my apartment while im at my work by checking the specific ip address provided.

I 'checked' the "Personal Web Sharing" in System Preference>Sharing then I typed http://localhost/ I was able to see the success connection with Apache.

I'm using Airport Extreme Base Station with DLink Router DI-604. I also added port mapping numbers 8080 and 80 in my Airport Admin Utlity.

Then, I asked my friend at other state if he could see me thru website with this specific ip address. He said he couldn't view me.

Here's a snapshot:


You could see the Address 'http://10.0.1.2:8080/webcam.html

What else could possiblity went wrong? Hope this will be solved with your help!

thats a local ip address... u would need to configure your router to point to your local ip then give out your router/gateway ip

Or you could upload to a web server, say every minute.

That's usually good enough for me if I want just to keep an eye on things.

No need to do that at all..

Anyway, as Mohammed said, thats a local IP number. So works fine when you want to view the vid on your local Network. But its useless across the net.
Try substituting the '10.0.1.2' number, for your actual IP number.
And hopefully your IP number is a static one.. Helps a lot.
