I am building a slideshow with 300 or so pics. I like the iPhoto export to QT (so I can sync music), but the compression settings are not adjustable and I'd like less compression.

The whole thing in iPhoto is about 100MB, but with iMovie it is several GB. This seems to be because the transitions in iPhoto's QT output are just a fade between Qt tracks rather than real data.

So I am looking for the output like iPhoto but with slightly better compression.

Any alternatives?

Thanks,

Trygve

iMovie probably just puts out a DV file. Which is something like 3,6MB/second and uncompressed video hence the huge file. I think iMovie offers other codecs to compress your movie while exporting. I can't check it really since I use Final Cut Pro and don't have iMovie installed.

You could use Keynote to do this. Or if you are building a Slideshow in iMovie once you export it Export to soemthing that will fit on a CD or whatever format you want. Obviously some will keep the file HUGE.
