I have made some feeble attempts at trying to do an iChat with a Windows XP box running AIM 5.9. Here are my observations:

1. I could not find a Windows driver for my iSight. It does not work on a plug-and-play basis, if plugged into a PCI-Firewire card.

2. While iChat-to-iChat video chats over the Internet work with the way our corporate firewall is set up, I couldn't initiate the chat from my PC. Text messaging worked without a problem.

3. A video chat initiated between iChat and AIM 5.9 with both computers on our internal network produced video, but no sound.

If any of you have successfully achieved iChat-AIM video-connectivity, please post your observations, too.
